The fossil expansion came out after the jungle expansion and because of the jungle expansion coming out early before the release date. Fossil came out in October 1999 but was scheduled to release during January 2000. The fossil set was expanded to include holographic and non holographic versions just like the jungle set. The mew card which was orignally in the japanese set of fossil was removed and later came back as a black star promo card in holographic and non holographic versions which was released to the pokemon league during january and april of 2000. The fossil set helped complete the first 150 pokemon cards which the tv show covered.
Error Card Information:
The fossil set also contained a rare error card of the holographic Zapdos card. This error has a space punched out for the evolution box punched out of the holographic foil even though zapdos has no evolution. All 1st editions of Zapdos have this error and only a limited amount of the unlimited edition has the error.
