The mainline Pokémon games, often referred to as the core series games, are the central and most significant entries in the Pokémon franchise. These games are developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. The mainline games introduce new regions, generations of Pokémon, gameplay mechanics, and adventures. Here are the mainline Pokémon games as of my last knowledge update in January 2022:
Generation I:
Pokémon Red and Green (Blue in Japan)
Pokémon Yellow (a special edition of Red and Blue)
Generation II:
Pokémon Gold and Silver
Pokémon Crystal (an enhanced version of Gold and Silver)
Generation III:
Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire
Pokémon Emerald (an enhanced version of Ruby and Sapphire)
Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen (remakes of Red and Green)
Generation IV:
Pokémon Diamond and Pearl
Pokémon Platinum (an enhanced version of Diamond and Pearl)
Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver (remakes of Gold and Silver)
Generation V:
Pokémon Black and White
Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (sequels to Black and White)
Generation VI:
Pokémon X and Y
Generation VII:
Pokémon Sun and Moon
Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (enhanced versions of Sun and Moon)
Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! (remakes of Pokémon Yellow with some Pokémon GO integration)
Generation VIII:
Pokémon Sword and Shield
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl (remakes of Diamond and Pearl)
Pokémon Legends: Arceus (a new style of Pokémon game with an open-world and historical setting)
Each of these games contributes to the ongoing legacy of the Pokémon series, offering new adventures and gameplay experiences for Trainers to enjoy.
