Pokemon LEGO set Pikachu's Pokemon Center Visit

A Pokemon fan named Savath_Bunny submitted a very awesome idea for an LEGO set which would be Pokemon themed which would be called "Pikachu's Pokemon Center Visit".

"Our heroes have traveled to Kalos City where some much needed rest and relaxation is in store for this group’s Pokémon. Stopping at the local Pokémon Center the team bumps into the knowledgeable Professor Oak. He reminds the friends to always be kind to their Pokémon if they hope to see them evolve someday. After stocking up on essential potions, pokeballs and updating their Pokedex, this band of adventurers are off once again in the pursuit of more gym badges!
Pikachu's Pokemon Center Visit includes the following:
5 Minifigures:
  • Ash Ketchum
  • Misty
  • Brock
  • Nurse Joy
  • Professor Oak
5 Starter Pokémon:
  • Pikachu
  • Squirtle
  • Charmander
  • Bulbasaur
  • Eevee
This Pokémon Center has many fun products for any travelers passing by. Offering an array of pokeballs, healing elixirs and tasty berries, this shop is fully stocked so every trainer's Pokémon can battle with safety and ease. In addition, there is a charming dressing room with an exclusive line of fabulous clothes and cool hats for any trainer to look like a true Kalos City champion. "

At first I was very excited to see a fan building such a well done model of the set of Pokemon. And I thought wouldn't this be a great Christmas gift idea as well. But unfortunately LEGO shot down the idea because of licensing issues with Pokemon. Which is quite sad because this could bring a whole new element to the fun of Pokemon that we don't currently have. I still kind of hope that someone will come up with a similar idea and make a LEGO playset that is Pokemon themed because my kids would totally kill for this type of toy.

The thing that I find odd is that out of all the movies and other themed toys including the Simpsons LEGO has done Pokemon just gets shot down. It also had over 1k supporters for the idea so I would imagine that it would have made quite a bit of money. Especially since the Pokemon world is always getting bigger and they could develop full zones which connect to the gyms and Pokemon centers to form a massive building of LEGO set. Like for example:

How cool would it be if there was a Pokemon set which could extend the whole room and contain every single map location known to the Pokemon world including buildings. I know I would be willing to build something that big just out of enjoyment. I kinda wish I knew a way to actually push and get something like this rethought but at the end of the day I'm nothing more then a lowly blogger. We can still dream and hope that LEGO changes it's mind.
